Apple Confirms iPhone 5 Announcement for Next Week

Apple has confirmed the worst kept secret about its forthcoming press conference - that it will take place next Wednesday, on the 12th September.
Widely anticipated to herald the launch of what is being tentatively called the iPhone 5, and presumably the previous model, the new iPhone will have to be renamed the non-so-new iPhone.
The press invite teases that the iPhone 5 will be the topic of the product launch, with the number 12 throwing a shadow in the shape of the number 5.
The current favourite rumours are that the model will be LTE enabled, although whether that is just for the USA or actually global has not been commented on. The phone is also expected be taller and thinner, with a widescreen aspect 4-inch display.
The presumed handset is expected to go on sale the following Friday, the 21st September.
