Amazon in Deal with Nokia for Digital Mapping Services

Amazon is reported to have signed a deal with Nokia to use its digital mapping service in future Kindle Fire tablets. The company currently uses Google mapping data in its Android based Kindle Fire tablet.
Google also recently lost the supply contract for Apple's latest software as the company switched to OpenStreetMap.
Amazon is expected to announce at least one new Kindle Fire device, and probably two, at a press conference next week. The company said last week that it had sold out of the older Kindle Fire and dropped hints that a replacement model was on the way.
Citing two people familiar with the situation, the Reuters news agency said that the new Kindle Fire tablets will also support location based services within the Nokia mapping data.
