Ghanian Networks to Share Fibre-Optic Ducts

­Ghana's telecoms companies have signed an agreement to share fibre-optic ducts instead of digging their own individual networks.

Announcing the decision, Tigo's acting COO, Larry Arthur said that the move would save money as well as reducing disturbance to other road and pavement users. However, be reiterated the problem of cable damage in both cost and network disruption.

Although the companies are switching to fiber-optic which has less use to copper thieves, their main problem now is other utility contractors ignoring warning signs and damaging their ducts.
