MobileApps Website Closes - Wants $1 Million for the Domain Name

The Singapore based mobile apps website, MobileApps.com has closed down and is seeking offers in excess of $1 million for just the domain name.
Initially launched as an app discovery solution for developers targeting direct consumers, the company said that it is now re-purposing its original solution to target the B2B market. Founder Alvin Koay also said that the company will move into the mobile advertising market.
With the shift of focus from B2C to B2B, the consumer-centric domain name does not serve its purpose any more and will be sold, according to company officials.
"We bought the domain name because it is highly marketable and easy to remember. The generic English keywords in the domain also create an instant brand which is defensible against copyrights, " said Alvin Koay, CEO & founder of MobileApps.com.
MobileApps.com received seed funding from a publicly-listed company in Japan, i-FREEK.
