Tower Bersama in Talks to Buy More Towers from Indosat

Indonesia's Tower Bersama Infrastructure is planning a US$59 million investment to add 560 new towers to its network during the second half of this year.
The investment follows on from the recent acquisition of 2,500 towers from Indosat earlier this year, for US$406 million, as a mix of cash and shares. Indosat now owns 5% of the tower network operator.
Helmy Yusman Santoso, Tower Bersama's corporate secretary and director told the Jakarta Globe that the company is in talks with Indosat for the purchase of an additional 12,000 towers from the mobile network.
As of 30 June 2012, Tower Bersama had 8,584 tenants and 5,416 telecommunication sites. The Company's telecommunication sites comprised 3,959 telecommunication towers, 1,040 shelter-only sites, and 417 DAS networks. With total tenants amounting to 7,127 on tower sites, the Company's tenancy ratio was 1.8.
The company recently posted a 47% rise in its first half revenues.
