ZTE Wins Belgian Packet Core Deployment Contract

Published on:

ZTE says that it has signed a packet switched core network deal with KPN's Belgian subsidiary, Base. The contract is the second of its kind between ZTE and KPN, following the September 2010 packet switched core project with KPN Germany (E-Plus).

ZTE said that its Uni-Core solution supports the evolution from 2G/3G packet core to evolved packet core (EPC), and assists operators in supporting unified 2G, 3G and 4G access.

Financial and timeline details for the contract were not disclosed.

As of Q1 2012, ZTE has secured over 20 EPC commercial contracts, deployed more than 80 trial networks globally.
