Hong Kong's CSL Launches Dual-Band LTE Services

Published on:

Hong Kong based mobile network, CSL says that it has launched the first fully commercial and operational dual-band 4G LTE network on 1800MHz and 2600MHz. The service is available through its 1O1O brand.

In addition, the company implemented LTE dual band software definable radios that enable the simultaneous deployment of LTE in the 1800 and 2600 MHz bands in a single radio cell.

The company launched its original LTE network in November 2010, and coverage has since expanded to 90 percent of the population.

"We are well into the second generation of our 4G LTE rollout, while other Hong Kong operators are only just beginning their deployment," said Mark Liversidge, Chief Marketing Officer and spokesperson for 1O1O. "With a mature, stable network already in place, 1O1O is in a uniquely strong position to continue enhancing 4G coverage with this LTE SDR technology."

1O1O launched the first LTE roaming service, with SK Telecom in June this year.
