Tigo Tanzania Outlines Network Upgrade Plans

­Tanzanian mobile network, Tigo has outlined plans to spend US$100 million on network upgrades by the end of this year.

"This material investment will increase network capacity, improve coverage and enhance users' experience," Tigo said in a statement.

Tigo General Manager Diego Gutierrez says the expansion, which is expected to be completed by end of this year, will spread to all 26 regions including, Lake Zone region, Northern and Southern regions, Mtwara, Iringa and Coast, giving Tigo the largest coverage footprint in the country.

Tigo Tanzania is a subsidiary of Millicom International.
