Lebara Mobile Names New CEO As Founder Moves to Chairman Role

­Low cost MVNO, Lebara Group has announced that its founder and CEO, Yoganathan Ratheesan is moving to the role of Chairman, while former Telstra executive, David Moffatt has been appointed as CEO with immediate effect.

David spent nine years at Telstra, Australia's largest telecoms company first as Chief Finance Officer and Group Managing Director of Finance and Administration and subsequently as Group Managing Director, Consumer.

Yoganathan Ratheesan commented: "Lebara is ready to move to the next phase of our exciting business journey. We aim to build something truly phenomenal for our customers and from which future generations can benefit. To help us on this journey, I will focus all my energy on the strategic development of the company, as Chairman,"

It was recently reported though that the company is looking at job cuts. It is also said to be seeking either a trade sale or stock market floatation.

The company currently employs around 1,400 staff worldwide and has operations in eight countries.
