USA's Mobile Payments Venture Prepares for Trial Launch

­Isis, the USA joint venture promoting mobile payments is reported to be preparing to launch its initial trial services later this month.

Isis is an NFC based payments venture set up by T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless and AT&T.

The trial is reported by TmoNews to be starting on the 20th August. The confirmed earlier announcements that the launch cities would be Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah.

In addition, Aéropostale, Coca-Cola, Champs Sports, Dillard's, Foot Locker, Jamba Juice and Macy's are among the first national merchants to join with Isis in mobile commerce transactions.

Initial smartphones that will be supported for the trial include the HTC Amaze 4G, Samsung Galaxy S II (but not the S3) and the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G.
