Samsung Working on Retina Display Grade Tablet

Published on:

Samsung is still planning to develop its own tablet that would include a screen resolution similar to that used by Apple for its iPad, which it brands the "retina display".

The revelation came from court documents in a Samung vs Apple patent trial that has started this week. The tablet, which was rumoured earlier this year is codenamed P10 and is said to be coming with an 11.8 inch 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) resolution screen

Although the screen is verging on almost too large, it would still meet the 256ppi standard to claim the retina display title.

Samsung was originally expected to show some sort of similar tablet earlier this year, but plans fell through - possibly due to the ongoing patent and display lawsuits between Apple and Samsung over the design of their tablets.
