Apple Set for New iPhone Announcement in September
Published on:
Apple is set to show off the next model in its iPhone family on the 12th September, according to multiple news reports, citing people familiar with the matter.
Speculation that an iPhone 5, or maybe a newer New iPhone would be launched this year has been growing recently, especially as many expected upgrades were not offered in the current model.
The new model is expected to come with a larger screen and thinner body, and probably work on the LTE networks being deployed in the USA. Whether it will work on overseas LTE networks is unclear, but the company did have difficulties with 4G claims for its iPad which turned out not be compatible with global LTE networks.
Suggestions that Apple is preparing to launch something though came in the most recent quarterly financial results which showed a rise in pre-orders for components.
Considering the rumoured problems that a redesigned model was having last year, leading to the lackluster new iPhone with minimal changes, it is thought that the forthcoming model will be the last that Steve Jobs personally worked on before his death.
