Samsung Preparing to Show Off Upgraded Galaxy Note Smartphone

Published on:

Samsung Electronics has announced that it will hold a press conference in a couple of weeks time to announce a new product, and the latest rumour is that it will be an upgrade to the Samsung Note device.

The press event is due to take place on the 15th August, ahead of the IFA Show in Germany where products are usually announced.

However, a source at the company had told BGR that the event will be to launch the second-generation Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet combo.

According to their source, the new device will come with a taller and thiner display screen, which could be 5.5" in diagonal width. The current model sports a 5.3" display screen.

The Note was somewhat derided when it was originally shown off last year due to the addition of a seemingly old-fashioned sylus pen to use on the touchscreen. However sales have been strong, vindicating the decision.
