Philippines Globe Telecom Starts Next Phase of OSS Upgrade

Philippines operator, Globe Telecom has engaged in the next phase of its OSS upgrade programme. ­The latest project includes Clarity supplied network discovery, alarms, performance and provisioning capabilities for the HSPA+ and LTE networks.

Globe has already deployed the Clarity OSS as part of its integrated Network Operations Centre (NOC) to manage its wireless and fixed networks.

In this latest initiative, Globe is undertaking a transformational upgrade of its mobile and fixed core, transmission, facilities and wireless networks. The Clarity OSS project includes enhancements and configuration for new network models and business processes.

An automated network discovery and verification processes will be used to ensure that network inventory records have a very high degree of accuracy. This means Globe can quickly make the enhanced network available for their customers use. Business process improvements are also being implemented to improve provisioning timeframes, monitor network performance and reinforce compliance to Service Level Agreements.

"Providing a superior customer experience whilst supporting rapidly growing data usage are the business drivers for investment in our new networks" said Robert Tan, Chief Technology Adviser at Globe. "As we move towards market differentiation and dealing with customers in a more personalized manner, we need to have accurate network inventory so we can proactively track network performance and optimize our investment for better customer experience."
