Everything Everywhere to Offer International M2M Services for Vending Machines
Published on:
UK based Everything Everywhere has announced a partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks offering machine-to-machine services for vending machines.
Through the partnership, vending machines will be linked to Nokia Siemens Networks' VendMe application and installed with Everything Everywhere SIM cards, connecting them to both the company's UK network and those of its parent shareholders, France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom's international footprint.
This connectivity will allow vendors to monitor stock levels remotely and plan replenishing of machines.
Vendors will also have access to new ways to advertise to potential customers, through sending targeted messages to those people in the vicinity of a smart vending machine, or interacting with customers and their contacts through their social networks of choice.
Once customers are at a smart vending machine, they will not need cash to make a purchase, but can take advantage of NFC technology, through Orange Quick Tap from Everything Everywhere, or NFC-enabled cards. Contactless payments are also possible through Reverse SMS and Chip & Pin.
Nokia Siemens Networks' VendMe application is a vending management tool hosted in the cloud, and managed and integrated through a coupling of the company's Machine to Machine (M2M) platform, Cumulocity, and Everything Everywhere's M2M Management Platform.
