Kazakhstan based mobile network, 2Day Telecom has signed a long term mobile backhaul contract with satellite operator, SES.

2Day Telecom increased capacity utilisation aboard SES' NSS-12 satellite by 50 percent to 54 MHz to deliver mobile communication services over challenging mountainous terrain in Kazakhstan.

Viktor Gryban, CEO of 2Day Telecom, said: "As mobile communications continues to be the one of the fastest growing sectors in Kazakhstan, satellite is being established as one of the most reliable forms of infrastructure that can overcome geographical barriers and provide extensive coverage. NSS-12's high-powered dedicated beam provides excellent coverage over Kazakhstan, allowing us to expand our services into new regions within the country."
