Motorola Mobility Outlines Android OS Upgrade Plans

Published on:

Motorola Mobility, which is on the verge of becoming part of Google, has published an updated list of handsets it plans to offer Android upgrades for.

However, the company said that it wasn't possible to upgrade all the handsets to the latest version of the Andoid OS, version 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich.

In a statement lacking any technical details, the company said that it works "very closely with Google and cell phone carriers for every software update. And, obviously we want the new release to improve our devices. If we determine that can't be done -- well then, we're not able to upgrade that particular device."

They finished by saying "Happy upgrading!" -- for those who can.
