Capital of Namibia Gains LTE Network

Published on:

Namibia based MTC has switched on its LTE network upgrade, offering coverage in the capital city, Windhoek.

The network was launched after the West African Cable System submarine communications cable linking South Africa with the UK was connected to the network to facilitate the necessary bandwidth.

Miguel Geraldes, Managing Director of MTC said that the network would be expanded throughout Windhoek by the end of July and coverage should reach 45% of the population of the country within the next 12 months.

The current 3G network only covers around 32 percent of people based in urban areas.
