Samsung Takes Over 9 Million Pre-Orders for New Galaxy Smartphone

­Samsung is reported to have taken around 9 million pre-orders for its forthcoming Galaxy S III smartphone before it has even gone on sale.

Citing a report in the Korea Economic Daily, the Reuters news agency said that the company has received orders from over 100 mobile network operators.

The new smartphone -- based on the Android 4.0 operating system -- goes on sale in Germany later this month.

The newspaper also said that Samsung's smartphone factory in South Korea is now running at its full capacity of 5 million units per month.
