I-mode Hits 30 Million Subscribers
The number of subscribers to NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service reached 30 million nationwide early this week, a little less than three years (1,038 days) after the service was launched on February 22, 1999. In addition, the number of subscribers using the 503i handset, equipped for Java-enabled i-mode services reached 10 million on December 21, 2001nationwide, slightly less than one year (330 days) after the service was launched on January 26, 2001.
Subscriptions for i-mode have grown as follows:
