Three Indian Networks Summoned to Answer MNP Complaints

Published on:

Three of India's mobile networks have been summoned by a Delhi court after they were accused of ignoring Mobile Number Portability rules.

Executives from Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Loop Mobile were summoned to appear in court on the 25th May.

The regulator, the TRAI filed the complaint, accusing the networks of regularly rejecting MNP porting requests from customers in several regions around the country. It did not appear to be a nationwide issue.

The TRAI also accused the networks of failing to provide it with information about the MNP failures when requested to do so.
