Nokia Reported to Be Planning its Own Tablet Devices

Published on:

Nokia is reported to be preparing to enter the burgeoning tablet market with a Windows 8 based device later this year.

According to a report by DigiTimes, the tablet will be based on a Qualcomm dual-core processor and come with a 10-inch screen.

Nokia is expected to outsource production of the tablets to Taiwan's Compal Electronics with the first batch of shipments in the region of 200,000 units, the sources revealed.

Nokia France boss, Paul Amsellem had recently hinted in an interview with a French newspaper that the company is working on a tablet product, but Nokia later issued a bland statement not explicitly denying the report, just noting that it hasn't formally announced anything.

Yet.
