Telekom Austria has confirmed that the Croatian Parliament has reintroduced the 6% tax on mobile network service revenues as of 26 January 2012.

Telekom Austria has a local subsidiary in the country.

This decision overrides the earlier abolishment of the tax as of 1 January 2012, which was announced on 28 October 2011. The law will remain in place until Croatia enters the European Union.

The tax is applicable on revenues generated by mobile services, i.e. voice, SMS and MMS, and is payable by the mobile operator.
