Verizon Wireless and Motorola Unveil DROID 4 Smartphone

­Motorola Mobility has shown off its latest Droid smartphone, the full keyboard Droid 4, which will be initially offered via Verizon Wireless in the USA.

DROID 4 comes with a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and also a five-row QWERTY keyboard with a PC-like layout and edge-lit keys for typing in the dark.

An 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and Mirror Mode displays images and video on an HDTV.

The smartphone is powered by Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, to be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at a later date.

The screen is a 4.0-inch qHD display with scratch and scrape resistant glass.

The phone will go on sale in the next few weeks.
