Chilean Network Suffers Network Outage Affecting 1.3 Million Customers

The Chilean regulator, Subtel says that it is investigating a network fault that affected around 1.3 million customers of the Entel mobile network yesterday.
It is reported that the network outage started at around 10:30pm local time due to the failure of a core unit in Santiago, knocking out the network across much of the city.
The outage also spread to the cities of La Serena, Coquimbo and Ovalle.
Voice and SMS were affected, although mobile internet carried on working during the outage. Services were restored by 3:20am.
