Bermudan Government Says Transact/Digicel Services are Ilegal

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.
The Bermuda government says that the long distance telephone services offered by Digicel's subsidiary company, Transact is not legal and that the company does not have a license to operate in the country.
The declaration was made by the Attorney General in advance of next week's trial brought by rival telcos over the Transact/Digicel long distance service.
If the Attorney General's advisory notes are accepted by the court, then it could potentially shut-down Transact completely.
Digicel has always argued that Transact is licensed to provide long-distance phone services, and as it is a subsidiary, then Digicel should be able to resell its services as well.
The government however argues that Digicel's acquisition of Transact was conditional on the two companies not reselling each other's services.
