HTC Reviews S3 Graphics Purchase - Lowers Sales Forecast

Taiwan's HTC has issued a warning that its fourth quarter financials will miss earlier predictions for revenues of NT$125-135 billion and will be flat with the previous year - at around NT$104 billion.
The company cited global macro economic downturn and market competition for missing sales forecasts. The company expects growth to return in 2012.
The company also said that it review its purchase of S3 Graphics following the loss of a patent lawsuit against Apple. The company is generally accepted to have only wanted to buy S3 Graphics in order to get hold of its patents, and as they are no longer of use, the company will review the deal.
S3 Graphics will continue to appeal against the patent ruling though.
