Nokia Shows Off a White Version of its N9 Smartphone

Although Nokia has just announced a number of new handsets, it is still planning updates to its existing models - this time showing off a white version of its Nokia N9 smartphone.

Current Nokia N9 owners will also be getting a software update for their phone shortly. The update includes usability improvements, like music controls keys from the lock screen or closing apps by swiping them down by default and NFC tag reading is also added.

Frank Zillikens, who heads up the product marketing for Nokia N9, explains why the phone is now coming out in white instead of at launch"The manufacturing process for beautiful white products is quite complex and we wanted to make sure we deliver the best possible quality for our consumers."

The white Nokia N9 sports a glossy finish, so it looks slightly different from its matte sisters in black, magenta and cyan. It will be available during the fourth quarter of 2011, starting with the 64GB version.
