T-Mobile USA Not Expecting to Sell the Apple iPhone 5

Published on:

T-Mobile USA has said via an internal memo that the company wont be selling Apple's forthcoming iPhone 5 this year.

Speaking at a meeting for T-Mobile staff, T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Cole Brodman confirmed the news that the phone wont be sold by the US network "this year".

There is some question marks over whether he was referring to the calendar year, or the fiscal year.

If the calendar year, then there is potential for the company to offer the phone in early 2012, which might fit in with Apple's need to control availability in the first few months due to capacity constraints at the factories.

T-Mobile USA is currently in the process of being bought by AT&T, who were the original seller of Apple's iPhone.
