AMC Gains Albania's Second 3G License

­Albanian mobile network operator, AMC has announced that it was the highest bidder in the auction for the country's second 3G license.

The amount paid has not been revealed by the company. AMC is majority owned by Greece's Cosmote.

In view of the official announcement on the winning company, AMC's CEO, Mr. Dimitris Blatsios, said: "Many changes in the 3G market are ahead of us. AMC is the company who is set to break the monopoly on 3G in Albania. We have been patiently waiting to get the chance to provide the Albanian market with reliable and cost effective data products, based on the latest and most advanced 3G technology."

Currently Vodafone has a monopoly on 3G services in the country.
