Nokia will be shutting down its Ovi branded email and chatroom services in China from later this month, the China Tech News has reported.
In a message sent to users, Nokia said that the Ovi email accounts will be shut after August 19, and old emails in the archive will be deleted if not downloaded before the deadline. For Ovi chat room users, they will not be able to use the chat room or the contacts application after August 19.
Nokia had previously announced that it would migrate its Chinese customers over to a Yahoo hosted platform, but that plan appears to have been cancelled.
