HTC Buys Patent Portfolio

Taiwan based smartphone manufacturer, HTC says that it has brought a batch of 4G patents from USA based ADC Telecommunications. The company is paying USD75 million for 82 patents owned by the Minnesota based company.
In a short statement, the company noted that the portfolio included 14 patents that are still waiting approval.
The patents are reported to include unspecified 4G technology developments.
ADC Telecommunications is a subsidiary of Tyco Electronics.
