Vodafone Fiji has signed a deal to expand its mobile payments service, M PAiSA to allow local Housing Authority customers to pay their loans. The CEO of Housing Authority, Mr Alipate Nairosui said that loan collections remain a challenge for the company and its analysis of the customers in arrears also indicates that lack of convenient service points could also be a contributing factor for customers not making their payment in a timely manner.
"For Housing Authority clients, M-PAiSA now offers that convenience and flexibility to make their loan repayments from anywhere and anytime;" said Mr Khan. The best thing about this service is that Housing Authority clients will be able to use this service free of charge. There is absolutely no charge to the customer for making their Housing Authority Loan repayment via M-PAiSA.
Once payment is made via M-PAiSA, the customer receives an electronic receipt instantly via SMS confirming the payment. Simultaneously, Housing Authority also receives payment advice which it is able to view in real time through a secure access over the web.
The M-PAiSA service was launched in June last year and now has over 320,000 registered users. M-PAiSA product Manager, Shailendra Prasad said, "We have a number of businesses that are currently undergoing training to launch this service in the coming days.
