Apple iPhone Catches Fire and Explodes

It is being reported that an Apple iPhone has exploded when resting on a desk - with scorch marks visible on the table after the phone had cooled down. A CrunchGear reader sent in the photos to the website showing a phone with the back plate clearly having popped off the handset and seemingly some melting of the components inside.
The reader also converted the photos into a video with dubious special effects, commentary and a Bruce Springsteen soundtrack.
He is contacting Apple for a replacement phone, and the Springsteen recording agent is probably contacting him about copyright issues.
