Nokia CEO Respond's to Google's Turkeys Jibe

A slight war of words is breaking out after last week's comment from Google's Vice President of Engineering, Vic Gundotra, who described the at the time rumoured Microsoft Nokie tie up as "Two turkeys do not make an Eagle".

Noki's own CEO, Stephen Elop who also has a little used Twitter account responded after the announcement on Friday morning with "Two bicycle makers, from Dayton Ohio, one day decided to fly." The message was a clear reference to the Wright Brothers, who went to making bicycles to being amongst the first to fly an aircraft. Although not the first to build and fly experimental aircraft, the Wright brothers were the first to invent aircraft controls that made fixed-wing powered flight possible.

The simile could be that Nokia/Microsoft weren't the first to develop touchscreen phones (nor were Apple as it happens), but they might aim to be the ones who make them mainstream.
