TeliaSonera Launches LTE Services in Estonia

­TeliaSonera has launched the first commercial LTE services in Estonia to customers in the city centres of Tallinn, Tartu, Kohila, and at IT College of Tallinn University of Technology. The rollout of the TeliaSonera Estonian LTE network will continue to during 2011.

"We are proud to be the first operator in Estonia to offer our customers 4G. We launch 4G in Tallinn, Tartu, Kohila, and at our IT College in Tallinn. We have an aggressive rollout plan and will continue to expand in Estonia during 2011," says Valdo Kalm, Head of TeliaSonera Mobility Services in Estonia.

TeliaSonera is now offering LTE services in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and now Estonia.

TeliaSonera has a license for LTE services in Estonia on 2.6 GHz, and opened its first test network 25 February, 2010. The LTE network in Estonia, in this rollout phase, is supplied by Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson. The modems are supplied by Samsung supporting LTE/3G/GSM PC/Mac.
