Novatel Wireless has announced the development of the Expedite G301 Wireless Embedded Modem, which will support GSM and GPRS services. "The new tri-band Expedite G301 embedded modem will enable customers worldwide the opportunity to enter the global marketplace quickly and easily," said John Major, Chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless. "The Expedite G301 will offer seamless interoperability as well as the performance, compatibility and quality that our customers have come to expect from the Expedite family of embedded modems."
The Expedite G301 supports Class 10 providing wireless data at speeds up to 53.6 kbps, SMS messaging features, very low power consumption including a Sleep Mode feature and the smallest form factor by volume in the industry. The Over-the-Air-Download feature helps reduce life cycle cost and keep all products operating at peak performance by allowing firmware upgrades without having to recall the unit. The modem is designed to be installed inside PDA's and other mobile computing devices."
