Turkish Network Delays Expansion Plans
Turkey's fourth cell phone network, Aycell which is owned by the state controlled land-line network, Turk Telekom has delayed plans for a tender for a US$1.5 billion infrastructure tender by five days to September 24th. This could follow on from an announcement a couple of months ago from the other new market entrant, Aria which is backed by the Is Bank and TIM that it is to reduce its network expenditure program. Aycell has said that it expected to be able to cover most of the country by the second half of next year."
