Ascom Network Testing and LG Electronics have announced a licensing agreement that will address the needs of their common customers related to the rollout of LTE technology.

Under the agreement, Ascom will receive licensed access to LG's LTE modem interface as required for the development and distribution of an interface between TEMS products and LG LTE terminals. The agreement includes updates and technical support for the included technical interfaces.

"This newly formed relationship between Ascom and LG will have material long term benefits for both organizations and for wireless operators alike," says Rikard Lundqvist, General Manager of Ascom Network Testing. The resulting TEMS products will be used by wireless operators or network service providers to effectively analyze the performance of LTE networks. Wireless operators will be able to further leverage their investments in TEMS tools to accelerate LTE network rollouts. LG will ensure leading network test functionality to operators featuring its LTE terminals. Both LG and Ascom will benefit from expanded market opportunities stemming from accelerated LTE network acceptance.

"We are very pleased to partner with LG on this LTE agreement and we look forward to providing technology-leading TEMS products from Ascom Network Testing that support mobile operators in the deployment and optimization of LTE networks," Lundqvist says.
