Belarus based Velcom says that it has extended its HSPA+ enabled 3G network to Mogilev following the trial activation of 50 base stations. Further works on optimization and steady raising of the network capacity will be performed over the next few weeks.

Over the last few weeks Vodafone Qatar has implemented significant equipment to enhance network capacity and quality to deal with the continuing growth in customers and calling volume in busy areas. An additional 76 Transmission Channels and 49 Radio Cabinets have been installed at existing radio sites. Furthermore, 15 new Base Stations and 1 new Base Station Controller have been deployed in the country's most populated areas.

Vodacom South Africa is offering its customers between 17% and 60% percent more inclusive data allowance on all Data Bundles smaller than 3GB, with the majority of customers gaining 20% extra data transfer allowance.

UK based MVNO, Virgin Media has  announced it has reached one million mobile contract customers. Virgin Media has increased the number of customers signing up to a mobile contract by more than 40% in the past 12 months.

ZTE has been chosen by China Mobile to deliver its IMS core network in key Chinese provinces. The China Mobile's commercial IMS network will boast 1.4 million lines when completed in three months.

T-Mobile Austria says that it has completed a network upgrade with Nokia Siemens Networks replacing its entire 3G infrastructure. Since the beginning of July 2009, more than 3,000 UMTS base stations in the T-Mobile network have been replaced. Today, the final base station in Vienna was re-equipped.

Vodafone UK has started taking pre-orders for the Google Nexus One mobile phone.

Kenyans who use metered water supplied by the Nairobi Water Company (NWC) can now pay their bills through Safaricom's M-PESA mobile money service.
