Sprint has announced the launch of a Sierra Wireless supplied MiFi hotspot, that enables upto five devices to share the same WiMAX connection via a Wi-Fi link.
Venezuela's Movilnet says that it has commissioned its 400th 3G base station and is aiming to raise that to 582 during the first half of this year.
Under instructions from its state-owned parent, China Mobile has sacked Zhang Chunjiang from his position as Vice Chairman and executive director. Mr Chunjiang is under investigation for allegations which are usually code in China for corruption, although China Mobile insisted that any such events are unrelated to his time with the mobile network operator.
MTN Rwanda has selected Aradial to provide the access control platform for its Wi-Fi network covering Kigali. Aradial's deployment operates with Ericsson's intelligent network over MTN's provisioning infrastructure.
Thailand's Hutchison CAT has started providing Critical Path's Mobile Email solution to its subscribers.
