Philippines based Smart Communications has deployed Amdocs ChangingWorlds'
software to support its Sandbox mobile social media service. Sandbox allows
subscribers to access services such as social networking, forums, entertainment,
blogs, news and shopping, and traditional communication services such as
messaging.
Lycamobile, a European MVNO says that it was secured court permission to levy
prejudgement seizure for the amount of EUR 15 million against T-Mobile
Netherlands to cover the alleged damages Lycamobile Netherlands suffers
resulting from the fact that T-Mobile Netherlands is said to refuse to port
numbers of Lycamobile Netherlands's customers.
Globacom Nigeria has started offering Huawei manufactured 3G modems for its
PrePay subscribers. The first phase of the prepaid 3G Plus services covers
Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin and Port Harcourt.
Zain Nigeria has contracted with Aircom International for a consultancy service
to improve its network performance. As part of the agreement, Aircom consultants
will audit the performance of ZAIN's 2G and 3G networks, in order to reach
agreed key performance indicators.
In separate announcements, Singapore's StarHub and Vodafone Qatar announced that
they will start selling Apple's iPhone range sometime in the next few months.

Russia's Comstar-UTS has sighed an agreement to allow its mobile WiMAX
subscribers to pay for their service at ION Digital Center retail stores in
Moscow. The retailer operates a chain of electronics outlets with 87 branches.
