Nera Networks Wins Montenegrin Backhaul Contract
Nera Networks has signed a contract with the Telenor Group subsidiary, PromonteGSM, to upgrade its complete wireless Backbone and Access transmission network in Montenegro. This will be the first All IP and future proof ready network implemented by a Telenor company.
"We are proud to be selected by Promonte for this technologically advanced project," says Per Arne Henęs, CEO Nera Networks. "Although this is a limited project for us in monetary terms, it confirms that Nera Networks is a frontrunner in providing next generation solutions for mobile networks."
Under the contract, Nera Networks will replace existing microwave radios with Evolution Series LONG HAUL, XPAND and EDGE microwave radios in a turnkey solution, where Nera also is responsible for implementation and project management.
"I am happy that Nera Networks is now part of our larger project of building a new advanced network for the future," says Christopher Laska, CEO Promonte.
Deliveries will take place in Q4 of 2009, while the complete project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2010.
