Nearly nine in ten information security professionals have doubts about mobile phone security. But despite this, and even more worryingly, nearly half of organisations do not have a specific security policy for mobile devices in place.
The 2009 Mobile Security Survey by Goode Intelligence and Acumin Consulting reveals that information security professionals are nonetheless aware of the risks, with 40 per cent believing the chances of an unauthorised person using a mobile phone to an enterprise network will be high or very high by 2011.
"Organisations must have effective and relevant information security policy and procedures and adequate technology controls to manage them," said Alan Goode, managing director at Goode intelligence.
With just under half of firms looking to recruit mobile security personnel in the next two years, this looks likely to happen, added Gemma Paterson, marketing manager at Acumin Consulting.
