MTN Cyprus to Optimise 2G and 3G Networks

­MTN Cyprus has contracted with network optimiser, Optimi to provide network planning, optimization and management solutions for both its 2G and 3G networks. The agreement covers the majority of solutions in Optimi's multi-vendor and multi-technology products portfolio.

Bassel Jamaleddine, CEO at MTN Cyprus stated: "We are excited about the acquisition of these advanced and innovative solutions, and the realization of all the benefits associated with their integration in our operational landscape, both in terms of superior network quality and even more efficient network investment plans".

MTN Cyprus (formerly Areeba Cyprus) is the smaller of the country's two mobile network operators. Latest figures from the Mobile World analysts reports that the company ended Q2 '09 with 184,000 subscribers - representing a market share of 17%.
