CDMA Certification Forum Now the Sole Certification Authority for All CDMA2000 Devices
The CDMA Certification Forum (CCF) has announced that the CTIA CDMA Certification Program has been integrated into the CCF certification process by creating a CTIA Certification Market Endorsement. This latest milestone comes in addition to the CDMA Development Group (CDG) transferring its 1, 2 and 3 test guidelines and endorsing the CCF as the official certification authority for all CDMA2000 devices worldwide.
The integration of these two key components makes the CCF the only test and certification process available today for all single-mode and multi-mode CDMA2000 devices. The purpose of the CTIA Certification Market Endorsement is to verify that CDMA2000 wireless devices sold into North America conform to the industry standards specified by CTIA - The Wireless Association.
"We are pleased to be working with the CCF on the recently converged certification process that provides CDMA industry participants an even more efficient way to test and certify their wireless devices," said Mark Sargent, Assistant Vice President of Certification Programs at CTIA -The Wireless Association(R).
The CDG Stage 1, 2, and 3 recommended testing procedures for CDMA2000 devices were previously added to the CCF test and certification process by merging the CDG-recommended test guidelines into the state-of-the-art CCF test solution.
"By integrating the CTIA Certification Market Endorsement and the CDG 1, 2, and 3 recommended testing procedures into the CCF certification process, the CDG, CTIA and the CCF have realized the industry-wide directive to implement a single certification process that supports all CDMA2000 devices in all global markets," says Thomas Erickson, President and CEO of the CCF. "The CDMA Certification Forum offers the most extensive library of test coverage available today to provide the fastest and lowest cost path to enter the market for any CDMA2000 device."
