Motorola Wins Indonesian Network Optimisation Contract

Indonesian mobile network operator, Indosat has selected Motorola's Home & Networks Mobility business to optimize its GPRS and 3G networks. Motorola will implement Bytemobile's Optimization and Services Node (OSN) and provide software and services to optimize Indosat's 2.5G and 3G services.

"It is critical that Indosat continuously improves network performance to meet growing market demand with minimal capital investment," said Johnny Swandi Sjam, president director of Indosat. "The optimization solution from Motorola and Bytemobile helps us achieve this goal by fully utilizing existing network resources. Motorola's expertise and experience in network optimization, combined with Bytemobile's market-leading technology, brings world-class implementation on both GSM and 3G networks, enabling us to offer advanced, reliable and affordable data services to our customers in a timely manner."

Motorola's optimization solution is designed to reduce the overall data volume in the mobile network. Motorola says that its solution helps to increase network efficiency and lower operating costs for Indosat without substantial initial capital expenditure.
