Nokia to Roll Out Ovi Store Across Latin America

Nokia have announced a partnership to bring its Ovi Store to América Móvil's mobile customers in Latin America. The Ovi Store service will be available to América Móvil customers in Latin America later this year through the Nokia N97 and by accessing the store directly at store.ovi.com. Specific markets, additional devices, languages and features will be announced over the course of the year.

América Móvil is the first operator in the region to announce the roll-out of a Latin America-wide offering of the Ovi Store to its customers.

Nokia's Ovi Store is currently available globally to an estimated 50 million Nokia device owners and is accessible from 100 Nokia devices. For new compatible devices, it will only be required to select the Ovi Store icon in the Download Folder to start choosing content.

"We are excited to announce the Ovi Store service together with América Móvil," said Blanca Juti, Nokia Vice President for the América Móvil Account. "This collaboration is an example of Nokia's and America Movil's joint commitment to offer consumers in Latin America the widest choice of mobile content and the customized mobile experience that fits their lifestyle".

The agreement is part of a partnership between América Móvil and Nokia in the area of services to help meet the growing demand for mobile data services in the region. To date, this partnership has made available to America Movil consumers a broad range of services such as Nokia Messaging, Nokia Comes with Music, and Nokia Maps.
