Acision Upgrades Bharti Airtel MMS Capacity
Acision says that it has upgraded the existing MMSC, supplied by a different company, for India's Bharti Airtel. Acision is providing a fully managed service for its Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) infrastructure.
Rory Buckley, Chief Executive of Acision, added: "Acision has made significant investments in the Asian region, opening new offices and hiring experienced staff to drive growth. Bharti Airtel will undoubtedly benefit from our ongoing commitment to this region which has enabled us to provide the dedicated support required for this type of managed service."
At the end of Q2 '09, the Mobile World analysts report that Bharti Airtel had just over 102 million subscribers - representing a 24% market share.
Earlier this year, the network operator upgraded its SMS capacity by deploying a Comverse supplied SMS Router.
