Belarus Company Develops Radiation Shielded Clothing

A clothing company in the East-European country of Belarus is reported to have developed a range of school uniforms that come with a radiation shielded pocket for children to carry their mobile phone in. The Foreign Policy website noted that some bureaucrats in the statist country might actually like the idea, as the news was actually delivered by a Ministry of Trade official.

This is not the first time a company has tried to develop clothing that includes so-called radiation shields though.

Back in 2002, Levi Strauss launched a pair of jeans which came with a radiation shield in the pockets to "protect" cellphone owners should they put their phone in the pockets. They slightly reversed position though in 2007 - by releasing a Levi Strauss branded mobile phone.
